• Design for a supplement to the December 2009 issue of Metropolis Magazine. It showcases recent Japanese products organized into didactic categories (everyday, traditional, sustainable, and technology). The supplement also discusses Japan's design policy which recognizes the potential of good design as a catalyst for a healthy economy.

The cover features a dimensional interplay between the title "Metropolis + Japan" and the Hiroshima Dining Chair. We aim to suggest the simplicity of Japanese design that often appeals to the user both physically and emotionally.

The color palette is kept neutral yet deliberately colorful within the four categories. The supplement also features ten upcoming designers to watch in highly stylized comic strip on the inside back cover.
