On December 7, 2008 we contributed the environmental design for This is Newark workshop at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, Urban Landscape Lab. The goal of this one-day workshop is to explore design possibilities for a series of permanent installations to mark points of entry to the city which will build and strengthen its identity and presence.

We were organized into teams of 3-4 by virtue of varied backgrounds and expertise. Collaborating with Mabel Wilson (GSAPP faculty) and Preeti Sodhi (GSAPP student), we focused on the idea to transform Newark into a digital landmark which would highlight the city's past, present, and future as a gateway.

A public discussion was held on May 6, 2009 at the Newark Museum to review contributed ideas.
