Online catalogue design and development for Sotheby's, one of the largest auction houses in the world. We designed the user experience to be easy to navigate and encourages interaction. By always focusing on the artwork, our goal is to allow the users examine the lots in advance of the auction.
The E-Catalogue offers a few key features:
(a) users can zoom to examine the work close-up
(b) toggles a relative scale function which displays silhouette figures next to the artwork
(c) filter lots by artists, medium, and estimate
(d) customize a high-resolution printable PDF
(e) robust Content Management System which allows easy catalogue creation and editing
Collectors can view the most up-to-date auction data from sothebys' website, however the E-Catalogues are also distributed as credit-card-sized thumb drives for those in-transit and without access to internet.
